Four youths hurt by pellets in eye operated on at SMHS
Srinagar: Huge clashes broke out after congregational prayers on the initial Friday of Ramadan at Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid, leaving numerous civilians hurt.
All over noon, dozens of govt forces and their armoured vehicles have been deployed at every nook and corner in the adjoining spots of the masjid, just about sealing the space.
Immediately after the prayers were being above, scores of youth carrying the Pakistan flag emerged from the premises of Jamia Masjid and started protesting. The protests led to stone-pelting and clashes with police and CRPF troops, who responded with teargas shells and pellets.
The rattling sound of shells and pellet firing prompted panic among the shopkeepers and commuters, who ended up found speeding to protection. Numerous shopkeepers shuttered their shops and stayed indoors.
At the entrance of the Jamia, a massive amount of policemen and CRPF troopers donning helmets and protective equipment were being armed with pellet guns and assault rifles. They hid at the rear of partitions as stones rained from the premises of the mosque.
As phrase about the accidents to protestors distribute, masked youth clashed with forces that have been deployed at the entrance of the Gojwara neighbourhood. This also triggered shopkeepers to flee and close their stores when transport quickly thinned on roads.
Health-related Superintendent of SMHS Medical center, Dr Nazir Ahmad Choudhary, stated that 4 youths injured by pellets in the eye were being acquired at the hospital on Friday. “All of them are steady,” Dr Choudhary claimed.
“All of them have unilateral pellet harm in eye and they are getting operated on. We will make a decision about their further more procedure tomorrow,” he reported.
