Again in 2010, very long prior to trip hailing startup Uber turned a tech “unicorn” worth billions, founder and former CEO Travis Kalanick offered billionaire trader Mark Cuban the opportunity to commit.

He turned it down.

“This is higher threat, medium reward,” Cuban wrote in an electronic mail to Kalanick in June 2010, which he shared on Twitter on Friday in advance of Uber’s debut on the New York Inventory Exchange. “I would not touch a 2mm valuation, allow by itself 5mm.”

Now, Uber has priced its IPO at $45 for every share, offering it an preliminary sector cap of $75.5 billion, and is set to have the largest initial public giving of 2019 – even despite the simple fact that buzzy tech corporations like Slack and Pinterest are envisioned to go community this year. It’s also anticipated to be the premier IPO in the tech sector given that Facebook went public in 2012.

When sharing the email exchange on Twitter, Cuban wrote that it was his “biggest overlook ever” and congratulated Kalanick.
