FIR filed against BJP’s Ladakh in-charge for bribery

Leh: An FIR was registered versus BJP leader and MLC Vikram Randhawa for allegedly seeking to bribe journalists in Leh, officers claimed on Thursday.
Randhawa termed the allegations as baseless and stated the Congress was attempting to malign the graphic of the BJP.
District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner of Leh Avny Lavasa informed PTI that only Randhawa was named in the FIR.
The situation was registered below Part 171E (Punishment for bribery) and 171F (Punishment for undue affect or impersonation at an election) of the Ranbir Panel Code (RPC) warranting investigation, she mentioned.
The FIR was registered just after the main judicial magistrate of Leh directed police on Wednesday to launch a probe into the make a difference.
Randhawa, who is the BJP’s Ladakh in-demand, mentioned, “All allegations of Leh journalists are baseless and deceptive. It was supported by anti-BJP features in Kashmir and the Congress to malign the image of the celebration.”
On Saturday, the Push Club Leh had accused the BJP of making an attempt to bribe its members by providing “envelopes filled with money” soon after a press convention.
A two-site letter signed by many users of the Push Club was circulating on social media. CCTV footage of the alleged incident also arrived to gentle.
Randhawa, however, claimed that the envelopes contained invites for reporters for the protection of Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s check out to Leh on May well 4.
The MLC explained some media persons opened the envelopes and returned them, saying they don’t have to have specific invitations as they had been already masking the minister’s stop by.
BJP’s state unit chief Ravinder Raina supported a probe into the issue but also questioned the assert of journalists inquiring why was the income not demonstrated in the CCTV footage.
