Three civilians injured in Pak shelling along LoC in Poonch

JAMMU: Three civilians, together with two females, were being injured Friday when Pakistani troops specific ahead posts and civilians places with mortars and smaller arms firing together the Line of Regulate (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, drawing sturdy retaliation from the Indian Army, officers claimed.

With Pakistan making use of weighty weaponry and 120 mm mortar bombs concentrating on civilian locations, people have been recommended to stay indoors, they said. “At about 0830 hours, Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing with smaller arms along the LoC in Swajian sector of Poonch,” Pro defence explained.

The Indian Army is effectively retaliating, he claimed. 3 people, which include two females, determined as Tasveer Akhtar, 19, and Shabina Akhtar, 18, of Chapprian village, have been hurt in the Pakistani shelling and they have been hospitalised, officers reported. A residence of just one Gani Mir suffered damages in Chapprian- Sawjian ahead belt, they said.

As Pakistani army usually targets civilian areas, persons of the Chapprian- Sawjian spot are demanding building of bunkers for their security. We are living alongside the zero line in close proximity to the border fencing but have no protecting enclosures like bunkers, stated Abdul Rashid of Chapprian village. Two folks were injured when Pakistani troops resorted to firing and shelling alongside the LoC in the forward spot in Digwar sector of Poonch previous Friday. —PTI
