Handwara: Scores of folks staged a protest on Friday in opposition to the killing of a 7th-classstudent in firing by authorities forces on Thursday night in Mandigam location of Handwara.
Eyewitness stated that countless numbers of people visited the household of slain college student, Owais Ahmad Mir son of Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, to offer condolences on Friday. Owais was killed in firing by govt on Thursday following according to police, some persons pelted stones on polling workers. Locals reported the boy was killed without having any provocation. They demanded investigation into the circumstances in which the boy was killed.
Meanwhile, a comprehensive shutdown was observed in Mandigam and close by Kralgund on Friday. On Thursday clashes broke out in between people today and govt forces in various places of north Kashmir soon after voting for the parliament elections finished. Owais was killed through clashes in Mandigam Handwara although two minors and a female were being wounded in forces action in Palhalan spot of Baramulla district.
